Markell Responds to Valero's Decision to Permanently Cease Refinery Operations in Delaware

Gov. Jack Markell said that state agencies will act quickly to assist workers affected by the closing of the Valero refinery in Delaware City and that the state will make every effort to ensure the environmental health and safety of the site to protect the thousands of Delaware families who live near the facility.

DuPont Nature Center announces winter hours for 2009-2010

The DuPont Nature Center at Mispillion Harbor Reserve, a DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife facility, today announced its new winter hours. Beginning Dec. 1 and continuing through March 1, 2010, the center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

DOVER - Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary
Collin P. O'Mara has issued a Notice of Administrative Penalty Assessment and Secretary's Order to Dassault Falcon Jet - Wilmington Corp. for violations of its permit issued by the Air Quality Management Section as well as violations of Delaware's Regulations Governing Hazardous Waste. Crossover Closure at Route 113 and Arrow Safety Road in Georgetown

Georgetown -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that it has implemented a median crossover closure at US 113 and Arrow Safety Road in Georgetown effective in late December. US 113 southbound traffic will no longer be able to turn left off of US 113 onto Arrow Safety Road, and will need to travel to Shortly Road and US 113 to make a u-turn to go north to access Arrow Safety Road. US 113 northbound traffic will still be permitted to make right turns off of Arrow Safety Road.
Emergency Road Closure: Old Furnace Road Closed Due to Bridge Pipe Failure

The Department of Transportation advises motorists that Bridge 3-240 on Old Furnace Rd. between Rd. 529/Cokesbury Rd. and Rementer Road west of Georgetown is closed due to a pipe failure and road undermining. DelDOT Bridge Maintenance crews were onsite this morning examining the pipe failure, bridge structure and roadway to determine the extent of damage and needed repair. They found a total collapse of the two main pipes under the bridge.

H1N1 Shots Available This Weekend For High Risk Delawareans
